Annlin, Pretoria

Another of the leafy green suburbs of Pretoria North, Annlin, a middle-class residential area lies right on the northern slope of the Magaliesberg with the city centre of Pretoria literally on the other side of the mountain.  With a steady development of townhouse developments, complexes and free-standing homes, there still remains a number of small holdings used mainly for agricultural farming purposes which allows for a lovely country-living atmosphere around the outskirts of this suburb. 

To the east of Annlin are the well-established suburbs of the beautiful and very tropical Sinoville and more modern Montana.  Heading south and over the mountain pass is the classically old-styled Wonderboom, Rietfontein and Gezina and then straight ahead into the city centre of Pretoria.  Annlin may have a smaller selection of amenities to choose from but with easy access to the larger surrounding suburbs, residents can easily find most of what is required in today's faster, more modern lifestyle!

CLIMATE:

Annlin really is tucked in right behind the Magaliesberg mountain range and, as is the case with the greater Pretoria North area, enjoys some of the warmer temperatures within Tshwane.  It has the protection from the mountain and a more tropical climate than most other areas in Pretoria.  Summer days can be particularly hot but afternoon showers are the norm and evenings are more comfortable.  Winter mornings can be cold bringing with it the possibility of frost on the odd occasion.  But as is typical in Tshwane, winter days become warmer toward the late morning and afternoons.  Heading further north the environment eases into lowveld, even bushveld, vegetation.

MAIN ACCESS ROUTES:

Annlin lies at the very western end of Zambezi Drive, which is also its access road toward the N1 highway in the east.  To the north lies the N4 highway with easy access from Annlin and the M1 and M5 thoroughfares provide access toward the city centre of Pretoria.
